SF Favorite: Papalote Soon to be on Food Network

As I was unwrapping our burritos from one of our new favorite SF taquerias, Papalote, I noticed a flyer in the bag about Papalote’s future appearance on the Food Network show Throwdown with Bobby Flay. Needless to say I was pretty stoked that a local place that I like was going to be on the tubez.

Dude, serious burrito girth! It’s going to air on Wednesday, February 17 at 9pm and midnight.

No Name Back on the Radio – Now on Live 105

Well it looks like No Name is finally back on the radio again to the delight of many, taking over the old Live 105 Woody Show time slot which was recently made available. What has No Name been doing since the Alice days?

“I’ve basically been on a 9 month vision-quest. I’ve toured the country. Met its people. Slept on its barroom floors. I can say with full confidence nothing beats the bay!”

It’s a little ironic that the Woody Show would talk cactus cooler about the old Sarah and No Name, only to be replaced by the No Nizzle himself. Anyway, too bad I’m in China right now or I would be a listener for sure.

I just noticed there’s a “Yes on 8″ google ad on my blog over there in the right column. Forgive me, but I’m not sure how to change it at the moment not to mention I’m really tired and voting takes place tomorrow so I’m sure it will be down by then. Needless to say I’ll be voting no on 8. Cheers

Alice Morning Show is again Sarah & Vinnie

After a couple weeks of wondering what the balls was going to happen on the quickly deterioting Alice morning show, original co-host Vinnie Hasson from the early days of Alice Radio is back on board after getting fired in 2002 for getting wasted too much. Too much of the sauce. Many of you speculated that this was going to happen. Vinnie was before my time listening to the station but everyone seems to like him so, Goulet! I listened this morning and admit I had a chuckle or two, what’s everyone elses take on this?

I can think of a lot of things to call this house, none of which are “home”. Just looking at this picture cracks me up! “Contractor’s Special” $499,000 hahaha oh god. I really hope their just charging for the lot and not that hideous piece of construction. What makes it even better is the houses next door actually look pretty nice! hahahahah sorry. Oh man, I just noticed that the contact guy has the same first name as moi. Coincidence?

What do you think, is a plot of land in Bernal Heights worth that much?

No Name fired from Sarah and No Name Alice morning show?

According to this article from Sfist, No Name will not be on the Alice morning show any longer. The article’s facts are a little vague but it doesn’t seem surprising since they recently changed producers and seem to be taking the show down a new path. I’ve been listening to Sarah and No Name ever since I’ve lived in SF and have grown acustomed to their funny morning antics. As you may recall, I made a song for their 60 second song contest that didn’t win anything but was played a few times. As pathetic as it sounds I really hope it’s not true, my morning commute wouldn’t be the same! Am I the only one who thinks that was a bad idea?

Goodbye celly to ear while driving

Celly driving has met it’s match! Tomorrow marks the first day of not being able to drive in California with a cell phone glued to your ear. I have to say I’m going to miss it, but of course the silver lining will be the douchies who don’t have the skills to talk and drive at the same time will be hopefully reduced. This is going to be a hard one to get use to!

San Clemente Toll Road??

As I was reading SFGate today, I noticed an article about my hometown of San Clemente. It was about a new toll road that they are trying to construct that will “ease” traffic from the 5 South coming up, but will also cut through precious beach and state park territory. Not cool! Peep for yourself…
