Olympics: Watching 20k Race Walking Marathon

Just watching race walking on the olympics before I hit the sack. I don’t know what it is but since I’ve had it on in the background before I go to bed for about an hour, I feel obligated to watch them finish. Race walking looks so awkward, very unnatural. What’s cool about it is since it’s the 20k they have the track going out of the Birds Nest so all the footage of the racers has the Nest in the background. It looks pretty cool. 4km to go, I guess they’re going to end up back in the Birds Nest for the grand finish. Is Kazakhstan going to take it??

How to save time in the morning

As I’m getting ready for bed I would just like to throw out a few pointers to be able to get ready in the morning in under 15 mins.

1. Sleep in your shirt (or under shirt) for the next day. Free up that 4 minutes it takes to pick out a shirt.
2. Sleep in your socks for the next day. Similar to #1 only this time with socks!
3. Shower and shave the night before.

I guess I’m just saying get ready the night before! If you’re a real man (like me) you’ll sleep in all your clothes for the next day and have a bowl of cereal with milk on your night stand. Sure the milk might get curdled but you know what they say; drink the liquid and eat the curdles for lunch! goodnight

Yep…a tree fell on my car…yea there’s a dent. Can you believe it? The only tree within in sight on that blew down and it landed on my car. I need to start playing the lottery!

Dylan’s Boutique Fashion Show

Well I did it…I went to a fashion show. Elena really wanted to go and none of her friends were available so I ponied up the courage to make a pretty girl happy. It actually was kind of fun, just hung out with a beer while waiters walked around offering beef carpaccio and salmon tartar canopes, although it would have been nice to eat some cooked meat.
The actual fashion show part was pretty cool too, but surprisingly short! About 10min! I tried to take pics but they wouldn’t stop moving! What gives!

Bourbon Street Gig

Last night was the gig at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill. After getting lost for a while I asked some dude in a parking lot and he put me in the right direction. I think the gig went pretty well. There was some parts that I still were not sure about so I was looking at the other band members for help, but in all it was smooth, oh although after the first or second song Chris’ amp just turned off so we had to just jam for a while until he got it fixed. I hope they continue to want me to play with them for more gigs and possibly even on the album they’re working on.

Tonight I had my third rehearsal with LowFat. I’m really liking it, they are all great musicians and have great ideas. I’m still working on the songs but I think I’m getting them pretty good. Our next rehearsal on Tuesday is our last one until the gig on Saturday at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill in Concord. It should be cool. I’m starting to feel like I’m part of the band, which is pretty cool. So come to the gig this Saturday! It will be fun.

Today me and Elena went to the Vivienne Westwood exhibit at the De Young Museum. I guess she is and was a famous fashion designer. It was Elena’s idea to go but I thought it was pretty interesting. My favorite part was when we went to the observation tower at the very top of the museum. It was cool…
