Measure I Passed; Great for Shorecliffs

A little bit of local news here (well local for my hometown of San Clemente , CA). For a few years now there has been a heated debate regarding the height restrictions of homes in a mostly single story community known as Shorecliffs. The majority of residents wanted to maintain the charm and original design of the neighborhood, which of course makes sense considering the town is know for it’s quaint low key atmosphere. Measure I, which was passed by a 69% yes vote, was the determining factor in the outcome of this debate.

From San Clemente Times :

“It’s a reflection on what San Clemente is about and what it’s about now is preserving it the way it is, keeping it small, keeping the character the way it was intended,” said Tracey Edwards, a Shorecliffs resident and member of the Preserve Shorecliffs Homeowners group that worked to get the ordinance passed. “It’s wonderful to see because we don’t want it to turn into another Newport; we want to keep San Clemente the way it is.”

Glad everything worked out as it should!
