I just got back from my business trip to Shanghai, China.  It is a very interesting city, no doubt about it.  Traffic is the balls but the sights are amazing.  I was only there for a week and really only had a real day of seeing the city, but I still managed to snap some nice pics.  Peep:

Check out this 3d orb icon I made.  Pretty cool huh?  Just a little fun thing I did during times of boredom.  I followed this tutorial from www.photoshoppoint.com.  It kinda looks like those application icons for the iPhone.  Give it a go yourself!

Say you’re in the bathroom at your job.  You’re using the urinal and the only other person in the bathroom is taking a dump in the stall next to you.  If they sneeze, do you say bless you?

Just watching race walking on the olympics before I hit the sack. I don’t know what it is but since I’ve had it on in the background before I go to bed for about an hour, I feel obligated to watch them finish. Race walking looks so awkward, very unnatural. What’s cool about it is since it’s the 20k they have the track going out of the Birds Nest so all the footage of the racers has the Nest in the background. It looks pretty cool. 4km to go, I guess they’re going to end up back in the Birds Nest for the grand finish. Is Kazakhstan going to take it??

Last night after burning my mouth extensively on Chicken Katsu from 88 Rice Bowl, I watched Tropic Thunder at the Century in Daly City.  This movie is over the top!  Right at the beginning you’re greeted with a soldier holding his intestines in and a war hero getting his hands blown off.  Of course it ends up being just a take on a movie set that’s spoiled when Ben Stiller’s character calls “cut” because he doesn’t feel the script is written well enough.  Meanwhile the itchy fingered pyrotechnics guy doesn’t realize the take was cut and gives the go-ahead to two fighter jets which fire missles near the set and set off a huge explosion.  Truely cinematic excellence.  The rest of the movie is semi predictable as far as the plot, but it’s the dialog between the actors and sticky situations that really make the film.  Two thumbs up!

After a couple weeks of wondering what the balls was going to happen on the quickly deterioting Alice morning show, original co-host Vinnie Hasson from the early days of Alice Radio is back on board after getting fired in 2002 for getting wasted too much.  Too much of the sauce.  Many of you speculated that this was going to happen.  Vinnie was before my time listening to the station but everyone seems to like him so, Goulet!  I listened this morning and admit I had a chuckle or two, what’s everyone elses take on this?

So many days when I was a kid I thought of making a sail for my skateboard but never got myself to do it.  Now there is a new hope for kids everywhere with the same dream via this step by step tutorial at instructables.com It looks like it would be a little flimsy, but think about the winds we get here in the San Francisco!
